The 2025/26 Best Bar None Sheffield scheme came to a fitting conclusion with the Best Bar None Sheffield Awards at Sheffield City Hall on Tuesday 28 April 2026. 

A total of 56 venues gained - or retained - their accreditation through the government backed scheme which celebrates responsible licensing and safer socialising. 

Of the 56 accredited venues through the 2025/26 programme, 22 are new to the scheme.  


The team from Sheffield Students' Union premises Bar One and Foundry receiving the Best Overall 2026 award from Sylvia Oates, National Scheme Manager for Best Bar None. 


18 venues were recognised at the 2026 Sheffield Awards as winners or runners‑up across 13 categories, alongside the presentation of the prestigious Best Overall venue award. 


True North's Riverside Kelham were crowned Best Newcomer.


Sheffield BID leads on the Best Bar None Sheffield scheme with Sheffield Council and South Yorkshire Police.   

Speaking at the conclusion of the Best Bar None Sheffield 2025/26 scheme Diane Jarvis, Chief Executive at Sheffield BID, said: 

“Best Bar None is one of our flagship schemes and reflects the professionalism, care and commitment shown by Sheffield’s hospitality operators. These awards are about recognising those venues who go above and beyond to keep customers safe while delivering high‑quality experiences.” 

The evening also provided an opportunity to thank participating venues and partners for their continued commitment to raising standards and strengthening Sheffield’s night‑time economy.

The Head of Steam received their Best Chain venue award from the Chief Executive at Sheffield BID Diane Jarvis.
